Youth and Families

Siksika must invest in its youth and families because they are the foundation of the Nation’s long-term strength, culture, and sovereignty.
When children are supported to grow in safe, loving homes rooted in Siksika language and ways of knowing, they develop the confidence and identity needed to lead future generations.
Developing a strong Bill C-92 framework allows Siksika to reclaim jurisdiction over child and family services, ensuring that decisions about Siksika children are made by Siksika people. By investing in prevention, family supports, and culturally grounded care, the Nation can keep families together, reduce trauma, and build healthier communities for the future.
Creating programming and building facilities that foster families and community are paramount to our health as a Nation.
